1. Who we are
MARE is an independent resort-wear store operated from Lisbon, Portugal. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@mare.studio.
2. Information we collect
Orders
When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, ordered products, sizes, quantities, and order status.
Newsletter and wishlist
We collect your email when you voluntarily join the newsletter. Wishlist entries are associated with a browser-generated session identifier rather than a password-based customer account.
Browser and technical data
The cart and session identifier may be stored in your browser. Our hosting provider may process IP address, device, browser, request, security, and country-level routing information in standard service logs and aggregate analytics.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect card or bank details because payment is cash on delivery.
- We do not store customer passwords or maintain password-based accounts.
- We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
- We do not collect precise GPS location, address books, or contact lists.
4. How we use information
- To validate, fulfil, deliver, and support orders.
- To save cart and wishlist choices for the current browser session.
- To send newsletters when you have requested them.
- To prevent fraud, protect the store, diagnose errors, and meet legal obligations.
5. Legal bases
For EEA and UK visitors, order information is processed to perform our contract with you. Newsletter information is processed with consent. Security, service reliability, and limited operational analytics are processed for legitimate interests. Records may also be processed where required by law.
6. Storage, cookies, and similar technology
MARE does not use advertising cookies. Browser local storage is used for cart contents and a random session identifier. You can remove this data through your browser settings, although doing so clears the saved cart and wishlist session.
7. Service providers
Cloudflare provides Workers hosting, D1 database storage, R2 object storage, CDN delivery, security, and aggregate web analytics. Information may be routed or processed in Cloudflare facilities outside your country under its applicable data-transfer safeguards. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
8. Retention
Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Wishlist data remains until it is removed or the associated session is deleted. Order and delivery records are retained for fulfilment, support, fraud prevention, and applicable accounting or legal requirements. Browser cart data remains until you clear it.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time. MARE does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Send requests to privacy@mare.studio. We may ask for enough information to verify that the request relates to you. EEA and UK residents may also complain to their local data-protection authority.
10. Security and children
Traffic is protected with HTTPS, and Cloudflare provides managed platform security. No internet service is completely risk-free. The store is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
